It is the policy of the Board of Supervisors to give public notice of vacancies on Boards & Commissions for a period of at least 10 days, as required by State law, so that interested persons may apply for appointment. Below are the Boards & Commissions that currently have positions available for appointment, listed in order by the Supervisorial District that will make the appointment. Also included is information relating to the qualifications for appointment, the length of the term, and the commencement and expiration dates of the term. Advisory Council to the Council on Aging	Vacant
Appointee shall be 60 years of age or older and reside in Supervisorial District 4. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2013. (Incumbent Eve Orton is not eligible for reappointment.)
Certification Appeals Board	Expired
Nominee shall be a current director of a County certified drug or alcohol residential program, a certified sober-living environment, or County outpatient program. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotaing 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010. Authority to nominate will remain with District 4 until term expiration on June 30, 2013. (Incumbent Karen Anton is eligible for reappointment.)

Appointee shall represent the electrical trades. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced July 1, 2010 and expires on June 30, 2013. (Vacant position formerly held by Manuel Roman, Jr.)

Appointee shall represent the public at large. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2013. (Vacant position formerly held by Aejaie Seller-Franciscus.)
Correctional Industries Advisory Board	Vacant
Nominee shall be a representative of adult education. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008. Authority to nominate will remain with District 4 until term expiration on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Chuck Perotti.)

Nominee shall be a representative of Department of Correction. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010. Authority to nominate will remain with District 4 until term expiration on June 30, 2013. (Incumbent Janet Fischer is eligible for reappointment.)

Appointee shall have demonstrated interest or participation in matters pertaining to the relationship between Russia and the United States. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2013. (Vacant position formerly held by Gloria Nieto.)
County of Santa Clara/Moscow Sister County Commission	Expired
Appointee shall have demonstrated interest or participation in matters pertaining to the relationship between Russia and the United States. Nominee shall be a primary care physician nominated by the Santa Clara County Medical Association. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2013. (Incumbent Dr. Robert Norman is eligible for reappointment.)
